The situation
Big Chinese BBQ brings traditional BBQ to customer homes for private parties across the Tampa Bay area. The business needed a website that could take bookings cleanly and collect a deposit when a date was reserved.
They had been working in Wix. Useful pieces of the site were hard to finish there—including practical navigation details, an intuitive booking and form flow, and a reliable way for customers to pay a deposit when they booked.
What we built
Proton designed and developed a custom website with an online booking system. Customers can choose an available date, enter event details, see the deposit due, and pay that deposit to reserve the day.
The booking experience was built around how the service actually works: one group books a day, start times are controlled, guest count affects the deposit, and the form keeps the next step obvious.
Why this approach
A DIY website builder can get a business online quickly. It becomes limiting when the business needs a specific workflow—navigation, forms, booking logic, and online deposits—that the platform does not support cleanly.
Building the site and booking flow around the service meant the customer no longer had to force those requirements into a template-first tool.
Outcome
Big Chinese BBQ can take bookings online with a deposit at the time of reservation. The booking page is clearer for customers, and the business has a website shaped around the service instead of around platform limitations.
